Qantas Airways launched a new seven-hour flight over Australia’s Outback and Great Barrier Reef for travelers who are dying to experience the joy of flight again. The flight attracted such a huge interest that tickets were sold out in 10 minutes,  local media reported.

Qantas Airways announced that the “flight to nowhere” will take place on October 10, 2020. It is dedicated for sightseeing over Uluru, Gold Coast, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Harbour, and other landmarks of the country.

The airline stated that due to border closures, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 150 passengers onboard will take off and land in the same airport in Sydney (SYD).

For the economy seat, travellers paid up to $787, the Premium class cost up to $1787 and the business seats were sold for $3,787. However, the price did not impact the passenger demand. Qantas spokesman said that the ”flight to nowhere“ gained surprisingly huge interest and became probably the fastest-selling flight in the airline’s history. According to the spokesman, the airline counted on the enthusiasm among the passengers, but did not expect to sell out in 10 minutes.

If the demand remains, the company will conduct another similar flight in the near future, said the spokesman.
