Aeronautical Engineers (AEI), a Miami-based plane conversion company, announced it would complete four Boeing B737-800SF freighter conversions for Texas-based aircraft leasing company Aero Capital Solutions (ACS). The four B737s would become the first converted freighters offered by ACS to the air cargo market.

According to the press release, all four Boeing 737-800SF aircraft are set to be modified in STAECO, China-based AEI Conversion Center. AEI stated that while the first of four B737 aircraft is already converted and would be ready for delivery in January 2021, another three remaining jets scheduled for conversion and handover in Q1 or Q2 of 2021.

All four modified Boeing 737-800SF cargo aircraft would offer its customers the main deck payload reaching up to 24,000 kg (52,700 lbs), announced AEI in a statement. Meanwhile, the jets would be capable of carrying 11 full-height container positions (88”x125”). In addition, there would be included an extra position for AEP/AEH, stated AEI.

A large (86”x137”) main cargo door equipped with a single vent door system as well as an Ancra Cardo Loading system would also complement the variety of technical features of the converted B737-800SF. AEI announced that the conversion also would include new floor beams aft of the wing box, a rigid 9g barrier as well as five supernumerary seats.
