After shake-up in Minister Cabinet, Aeroflot elects new CEO

The Russian flag carrier Aeroflot Airlines announced the appointment of Mikhail Poluboyarinov as the new CEO of the air carrier.

Aeroflot Board of Directors designated Mikhail Poluboyarinov to hold the CEO position at the airline. According to the airline’s press release, Poluboyarinov was inaugurated during the board meeting that took place on November 20, 2020. 

Prior to his election for the CEO position at Aeroflot, Poluboyarinov was holding the Chief Accountant and the Deputy CEO positions at the airline between 2000 and 2009, according to the statement. Poluboyarinov joined Aeroflot’s Board of Directors back in 2017.

Vitaly Saveliev, a former CEO of Aeroflot, left the position following the unexpected changes in Russia’s Minister Cabinet. Savaliev was appointed as the new Minister of Transport of the country, he was also elected to become the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the airline.
