A Russian plane Yakovlev Yak-40, operated by the Russian charter airline AeroBratsk, wrongly landed on an unfinished runway at Olekminsk Airport, Russia.

On December 29, 2020, performing a flight from Bratsk Airport (BTK) to Olekminsk Airport (OLZ), Yakovlev Yak-40, registered as RA-87397, mistakenly landed on the runway which was under construction. There were no reported casualties or damage to the aircraft.

According to Aviation Herald, the aircraft was on approach to Olekminsk’s runway 26R but landed on the unfinished runway 26L due to poor visibility.

The video footage, taken from a car driving along the snowy runway, shows the AeroBratsk Yakovlev Yak-40 aircraft standing in a snowbank on the side of the road. The captured incident was published by Russian online news outlet Baza.
