JetBlue gets green light for transatlantic flights, UK CAA confirms

UK CAA

JetBlue (JBLU) received regulatory approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) for transatlantic flights, the authority confirmed on April 19, 2020. The permit will allow the US-based airline to operate transatlantic routes between London, New York, and Boston.

This is the first time British authority has issued such approval to a new operator since the country has left the European Union, the CAA added in a statement. All airlines from outside the United Kingdom have to obtain a Foreign Carrier Permit before operating any flights to, from, or within the UK.
