Transatlantic leisure startup carrier World2Fly took delivery of its first two Airbus A350-900s from US-based leasing company Air Lease Corporation (ALC).

The new A350-900s,  delivered on June 7, 2021, join the carrier’s fleet currently consisting of one A330-300. 

Based in Spain, World2Fly obtained its Air Operators License in May 2021 and plans to launch operations from June 19, 2021. Initially, the airline plans to operate long-haul flights from Lisbon and Madrid airports to Caribbean airports, specifically Havana, Cuba, Cancun, Mexico, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. 

“We are delighted to deliver our first of two new A350-900 aircraft to our new customer, World2Fly,” said Matthew Stevens, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at Air Lease Corporation.

The carrier will serve its Caribbean destinations with two weekly flights from Madrid and one flight per week from Lisbon. According to a carrier’s spokesperson, World2Fly will operate one A330-300 from Lisbon and two A350-900s by 2022.
