The world’s newest Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft made its first commercial debut on June 22, 2021.

Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft, registered as A6-EVO, conducted its first commercial operation EK47 from Dubai International Airport (DXB), United Arab Emirates, to Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Germany.

According to the RadarBox.com data, the world’s newest Super Jumbo was delivered from Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (XWF), Germany to its home base in DXB airport on June 19, 2021.

The recently delivered Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft is the world’s youngest double-decker, as it counts only 0.7 years old, as per planespotter.net data. The aircraft will seemingly remain the newest A380 for some time. The next Super Jumbo is not due to be handed to the Dubai-based airline until 2023. There are only three Airbus A380s left to be delivered to Emirates.

The status of the Airbus A380 has been questioned ever since the pandemic took its toll on international travel demand. However, being the largest operator with a quite hefty fleet of Airbus A380s ‒ 119 with one on its way to retirement ‒  Emirates has not lost its belief in the double-decker.

“The A380 […] will continue in the plan until the mid-2030s,” said Emirates CEO Sir Tim Clark while speaking during CAPA Live on February 10, 2021.
