Boeing 747 spotted zigzagging to avoid collision with Boeing 737

A Moldovian cargo charter Fly Pro Boeing 747-200 aircraft was spotted flying erratically upon landing in an attempt to avoid collision with a GOL Boeing 737-800 aircraft. 

The incident took place at Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), in São Paulo, Brazil, when the Fly Pro Boeing 747-200,registered as ER-BAT, was spotted zigzagging in an attempt to distance itself from the GOL Boeing 737-800 aircraft, registered as PR-GZK, which was approaching towards runway 09R. No injuries among the crew and passengers were reported.


“The approach and landing of flight GOL G3 1656, which took place this Monday, June 28, at São Paulo International Airport – GRU Airport, were carried out within normal limits and in total safety, GOL’s number one value. It is important to clarify that any need to discontinue the approach, also known as a dash (performed by the other aircraft) is a standard maneuver in aviation and all pilots are trained to perform it whenever necessary,” read GOL’s statement seen by the local Brazilian media outlet Veja São Paulo on June 29, 2021.
