The Korean startup airline Air Premia will commence domestic commercial operations from Seoul-Gimpo International Airport (GMP) to Jeju International Airport (CJU) on August 11, 2021.
The aircraft is scheduled to depart from GMP at 06:30 and arrive at CJU at 07:40. After which, the aircraft will return via the same route departing from CJU at 08:40 and arriving at 09:50 at GMP. The airline reportedly plans to operate the same route twice a day, once in the morning and evening, respectively.
The self-proclaimed hybrid service carrier received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) on July 16, 2021, after a delay attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Air Premia had initially planned to start international operations in September 2020 but was forced to postpone due to the pandemic restrictions, which diminished their plans of operating long-haul flights for which they leased a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The Seoul-based airline intends to operate their Boeing 787-9 on domestic routes and then expand over international operations.
The airline proclaim themselves to be a hybrid carrier as they intend to provide the full-service airline experience with a low-cost carrier’s pricing.
Air Premia operates a fleet of only one Boeing 787-9 currently.
