If you’ve ever left a personal item at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), now is the chance to claim it. Otherwise, you may want to visit the airport’s annual auction that will take place on October 23, 2021.

Organized by the Allegheny County Airport Authority, two years’ worth of unclaimed items at the PIT airport will be placed on public auction.

“We have two years’ worth of left-behind items for the public due to a scaled-down, online-only event last year,” Dawn Bailey, manager of landside and terminal operations for the Allegheny County Airport Authority told local press.

Among this years’ offerings are nine abandoned vehicles including a fire truck, runway brooms and plows, 1,000 pieces of jewelry, a portable toilet seat, and an Elf on a Shelf.

In all of PIT’s 9-year auction history, it was the 2019 auction that saw the highest turnout. One of the biggest items sold that year was a former Allegheny County Bomb Squad truck for $8,500.

2020’s virtual airport auction saw a 2012 Chevy Silverado sell for more than $18,000, a 2018 Camaro go for $26,000 and a 2006 Nissan Murano for $1,100.

The October 23, 2021 PIT auction starts at 10:00 local time at the airport’s Heavy Equipment Building.
