Three public bus services skipped their usual stop at Singapore’s Changi International Airport (SIN) on the evening of October 6, 2021 after a fire broke out in the basement level of Terminal 1 of the airport.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) advised local media that it received an alert about the airport fire at about 21:50 local time.

However, when SCDF arrived at the scene, the fire had already been extinguished by the airport emergency services.

SCDF said that it then ventilated the air in the basement using smoke extractors after confirming that there were no casualties, injuries or damages.

The organization also confirmed that an investigation is still underway to find out what caused the fire.

Bus services resumed an hour later. No flights were delayed, cancelled or affected.
