Singapore Airshow 2022 to be closed for public
Singapore Airshow 2022 is going to be organized in February 2022, but in a much smaller format, Singaporean press reports.
The airshow, which has been happening once every two years at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), will start on February 15, 2022, and last until February 18, Singapore Straits Times reports, referring to an unnamed source close to the matter. Previous reports said the airshow is going to last until February 20.
The airshow may also lack public displays that usually happened over the weekend and involved aerobatics displays by various air forces.
The organizers will also take various precautions against the transmission of COVID-19. For example, all foreign guests arriving to the airshow will have to be vaccinated.
According to Singapore Straits Times, the organizers still expect over 10,000 visitors at the airshow, as the event will now be fully dedicated to representatives of various aerospace companies.
In 2020 the Singapore Airshow also lacked the public part, but still gathered over 30,000 visitors, the organizers claim.
