Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) showed off the Boeing 777X aircraft to employees in Frankfurt on November 19, 2021, after the aircraft made a stop at Germany’s largest airport on its way back from the Dubai Airshow.

The 777X made its international public debut at the 2021 Dubai Airshow, landing in the United Arab Emirates on November 9, 2021.

On November 18, 2021, the test aircraft in Boeing livery, landed at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) flying as BOE001. The German carrier, set to be the launch customer for the aircraft, hosted an event in its maintenance hangar for the aircraft.

Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) has ordered 20 777-9 aircraft. The 777X program has been delayed several times but Boeing confirmed plans for first deliveries in 2023 at the Dubai Airshow on November 13, 2021.

The 777X family, comprising 777-8, 777-9, and 777-10 variants, is intended to replace earlier models of the 777, as well as compete with Airbus widebodies, such as the A350 aircraft.

The aircraft sports folding wingtips and the GE Aviation engines have the largest fan ever produced for a commercial aircraft.

Any planespotters wanting to catch a glimpse of the 777X, registered as N779XW, need to get to Germany this weekend, where the plane will depart Frankfurt on November 21, 2021, for Seattle.
