A Finnair Airbus A319 passenger aircraft overran the runway and collided with a snowbank after landing in Ivalo, Finland.
The incident occurred on November 27, 2021, when the Finnair Airbus A319-100 jet, registered as OH-LVL, was operating regular domestic flight AY-601 between Helsinki and Ivalo. According to Flightradar24.com data, the plane took off from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) at 7.23 a.m. (UTC) and landed at Ivalo Airport (IVL) over an hour later.
However, after landing, the aircraft veered to the left side and began to drift at a low speed. The flight crew made an unsuccessful attempt to stop the jet, which collided with a 15-centimeter-thick snowbank near the runway.

According to local media, the plane suffered minor damages to one of its engines. This is thought to be a result of the flight crew attempting to stop the jet before the collision. Fortunately, none of the 73 passengers on board were injured.
After the incident, the OH-LVL was towed back on the runway and taxied to the apron.
