ITA shows the colors of its brand-new Airbus A350XWB

The minute-long video, shared on social media on March 25, shows the aircraft in the painting hangar before its rolled-out sporting ITA’s bright blue livery. The accompanying message calls the Airbus A350-900 the ‘flagship’ of the airline’s fleet.

Previously the airline said it was expecting to take the first A350XWB deliveries in June 2022, ahead of its new Rome to Buenos Aires route launch.

ITA Airways has a total of 55 aircraft in its fleet, which comprises of Airbus A319, A320, and A330 models, according to the Planespotters.net data. The airline has also previously announced plans to expand the fleet to 78 aircraft in 2022 and 105 in 2025.

ITA Airways is the successor of Italy’s failed flag carrier Alitalia. The country’s new national airline launched on October 15, 2021, a day after Alitalia’s final flight.
