The Deputy Transport Minister of Russia and former Deputy General Director at Aeroflot, Kirill Bogdanov has resigned.
According to an unnamed source close to the matter, the resignation is connected to what have been referred to as “violations” at Aeroflot, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reports.
On April 12, Andrei Panov, the former deputy CEO of Russian flag carrier Aeroflot, published a statement in the Financial Times calling on Russian businessmen to sabotage the country’s war effort and oppose the regime.
Panov resigned from his position following the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and fled to Israel. His statement resulted in raids at Aeroflot’s offices by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to Ria Novosti’s source, Bogdanov resigned voluntarily, however, he was “compelled” to make the decision.
Bogdanov served as Deputy General Director for Informational Technology at Aeroflot between 2009 and 2020.
