Azorra to acquire 11 Embraer E-Jet aircraft to expand leasing portfolio
Florida-based aircraft lessor Azorra has signed a deal to purchase 11 Embraer E-Jet aircraft currently leased to four airlines. All 11 jets had previously belonged to lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC).
“This acquisition further diversifies our growing portfolio and is weighted towards E195s, where we see healthy near-term demand and longer-term potential for freighter conversions” said John Evans, Azorra’s CEO.
Upon closing the deal, Azorra will own and manage a mixed fleet of 71 aircraft manufactured by Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Bombardier.
Currently, the company only focuses on acquiring regional, crossover, and narrow-body jets.
The news about additional purchase comes just three weeks after Azorra completed the acquisition of 37 aircraft which were formerly owned by the Nordic lessor NAC. The purchase was comprised of 29 Embraer E-Jets, seven ATR aircraft, and one Q400 turboprop leased to 13 carriers.
Azorra has also had a busy start to 2022, having announced plans in January to order 22 Airbus A220 aircraft. The order includes 20 A220-300s and two ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft.
