Australian flag carrier Qantas is set to drop all requirements for its international passengers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The airline announced that from July 19, 2022, it would allow unvaccinated travelers on board all Qantas flights.

“From Tuesday 19 July 2022, the Qantas Group will no longer require passengers on international flights operated by the Qantas Group to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” the airline said in a memo seen by local media.

The announcement came after the federal government declared on July 3, 2022 that inbound travelers to Australia will no longer need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status to enter the country.

However, Qantas employees are still required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The airline advised that passengers should still check the respective entry requirements for their destinations.

“Vaccination against COVID-19 may still be required by certain countries, so passengers should check the requirements of the country they are traveling to,” Qantas said.
