Nigerian start-up ValueJet offers ‘first flight free’ ahead of launch

ValueJet, a new Nigerian start-up airline, plans to commence operations on October 10, 2022, with a bold campaign.

Taking to social media, the airline said that passengers who purchase a round-trip ticket between October 4 and 9 will get their first flight free.

This option is only valid for passengers who book a ticket scheduled between October 10, 2022, and November 9, 2022, according to the airline’s website

“Our mission is to reinvent air travel with our unique value proposition of safety, comfort, convenience, experience and high value for money,” ValueJet’s chairman, Adekunle Soname said, according to a report by BusinessDay.

ValueJet plans to commence operations flying domestic round-trip routes in Nigeria from its supposed hub in Lagos to Abuja, Asaba and Port Harcourt.

ValueJet was first founded in 2018 as a commercial and charter service carrier with the aim of becoming a “global airline” that connects “people and places using modern air travel.”

The airline received its Air Operators Certificate from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) issued by Director General of the NCAA, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, on September 21, 2022, after meeting the authority’s requirements.

ValueJet domestic services will be backed by an all-Bombardier CRJ 900 fleet of three aircraft. Its latest CRJ 900, registered 5N-BXR was delivered to the airline in early September 2022.
