COMAC’s C919, the Chinese competitor to the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737, received 300 new orders during the Zhuhai Airshow, according to Chinese media.

Seven leasing companies ordered the jet, the reports suggest, in addition to 30 orders for the ARJ21, COMAC’s regional airliner.

According to Chinese state news agency Xinhua, the companies are China Development Bank Leasing, ICBC Leasing, CCB Financial Leasing, BOCOM Leasing, CMB Financial Leasing, SPDB Financial Leasing and Suyin Financial Leasing.

A number of Chinese airlines have already placed their orders for the jet, including its launch customer China Eastern.

However, the C919 was only certified by Civil Aviation Administration of China in September 2022, following numerous delays.

The C919 is one of the main attractions at this year’s China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Zhuhai Airshow.

The aircraft performed aerial displays and was accessible to the public.
