Some pups have all the perks. Take Boomer, for example: a five-year old Samoyed who, according to his owner, is a service dog trained for anxiety alert and deep pressure therapy (DPT).
Recently, Boomer flew from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with Delta Air Lines, when along with his owner, he got upgraded to the airline’s Delta One business class suites.
Boomer’s owner, Charishma Cohen, took a video of the experience, and uploaded it on Instagram and TikTok, where they have over 3.3 million followers.
The clip starts with Boomer and Cohen enjoying an ice cream in what appears to be the airline lounge, before queuing to board the aircraft.
They eventually settle in their business class seat, Delta One suites that have sliding doors that fully enclose the passenger, and seats that transform into a 180 degree lie-flat bed.
Delta One suites with full-height doors can be found on the airline’s Airbus A350 and A330-900 flights. This particular flight was on an Airbus A330-900neo.
Delta One suites are available on long-haul international flights, and select long-haul domestic flights. The flight time from LAX to NYC is approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes.
The rest of the clip shows both Cohen and Boomer enjoying the flight, watching in-flight movies, partaking in the copious amounts of inflight food and beverages, and catching up on a snooze.
“And in this moment, I realized I didn’t hate flying, I just hated being poor. We were able to get upgraded to what I believe is the best domestic flight seat and so grateful to have been able to experience it at least once!” Cohen captioned the video.
On her YouTube channel, Cohen said that they always fly Delta and they had enough points and mileage to upgrade to the Delta One business class cabin on this flight.
Delta Air Lines does not currently allow emotional support animals to be in the cabin. It accepts trained service animals, though only by request.
