A passenger who was denied entry to a flight because boarding closed was arrested by police after claiming there was a bomb on the plane.

According to Times of India the engineer from Warangal, Telangana was due to travel from Hyderabad Airport (HYD) to Chennai on Monday, February 21, 2023.

However, after he missed a flight at 05.15am the passenger then missed a following one he had subsequently booked at 10.15am.

“By the time he reached the airport, the boarding gates were closed. He was annoyed and threatened that the flight will not leave without him. He then called Dial-100 from his phone and claimed there was a bomb on the plane,” explained Inspector R Srinivas.

After police received the phone call the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee at the airport was contacted and officers arrested the passenger who was still at the airport.

After the hoax caller was questioned by police, he admitted he had made the bomb threat and was taken into custody.

According to police the man made the hoax calls out of “frustration”.
