Two Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, a Sukhoi Su-30 and a Dassault Mirage 2000H, crashed while on a training mission in Madhya Pradesh, Central India.

The two fighters had taken off from Gwalior Air Force base. They were reportedly engaged in a high-speed simulated combat mission when they crashed near the city of Morena on January 28, 2023.

The two crew members of the Su-30 managed to eject safely, but the pilot of the Mirage 2000 was killed.

While a mid-air collision is suspected, it was not confirmed by the authorities. The IAF opened an investigation to determine the cause of this accident.
