Indonesia’s defense ministry announced the acquisition of 12 ANKA drones from Turkish Aerospace in a deal valued at $300 million.

The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) Anka is a medium-altitude and long-endurance (MALE) drone suitable for various missions, including intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and target acquisition. It can also be armed with precision air-to-ground munitions

Along with the drone systems, the deal encompasses comprehensive training and flight simulators, further enhancing Indonesia’s defense capabilities. The delivery of the drones is expected within 32 months of signing.

In July 2022, Indonesia secured the delivery of 12 second-hand Mirage 2000-5 fighter aircraft from the Qatar Emiri Air Force.
