Lufthansa adds A380 to LAX, Bangkok routes; commences Bangalore, Hyderabad flights

German flag carrier Lufthansa is launching its Airbus A380 to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) as of October 2023.

The daily A380 Munich International Airport (MUC) to LAX flights will commence on October 5, 2023. On October 28, 2023, Lufthansa will launch the A380 on MUC to BKK flights, offering a 75% increase in seat capacity compared to the current aircraft used on the route, namely the A350.

For these routes on the A380, Lufthansa offers eight seats in First Class, 78 seats in Business Class and 52 seats in Premium Economy.

New Indian destinations

Under the same announcement, Lufthansa also shared that it will be expanding its services to India to start in the Winter season of 2023: 

It will operate thrice-weekly from MUC Airport to Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD). 

Lufthansa currently serves two other Indian destinations in its route: Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) , and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. (BOM).

All Indian routes–current and upcoming, will be served by the airline’s Airbus A350 fleet.

Further details including flight schedules will be announced in mid-May 2023.
