Northern Pacific Airways, a recently launched airline in the United States (US), has called upon the AvGeek community to fill one of its flights to Las Vegas, Nevada, the US.

In a brief tweet, the carrier said it was “calling all AvGeeks” to fly between Ontario International Airport (ONT), California, and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). “Let’s make it an AvGeek party plane to [Las] Vegas,” Northern Pacific said, adding a request to “spread the word”.

The flight, priced at $49 a seat, will depart on August 3, 2023, and will be the airline’s sixth flight since it started commercial operations on July 14, 2023.

Northern Pacific currently flies only between ONT and LAS. Plans to launch flights between mainland US and Asia, with a stopover at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) in Alaska, were derailed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions between the US and Russia.

Northern Pacific Airways experienced a rough start. On the airline’s return journey to ONT on July 16, 2023, the carrier’s only active Boeing 757, with registration N628NP, encountered a mechanical issue. However, the aircraft was fixed, and operated the subsequent flights without any issues.

In response to an “incredible demand”, the carrier doubled the number of seats between ONT and LAS, adding flights on Thursdays and Mondays. Previously, Northern Pacific Airways only flew on Fridays and Sundays.

The airline’s three other Boeing 757s, registered as N206UW, N202UW, and N201UU, have remained inactive, according to and data. All four aircraft were formerly operated by American Airlines, which were retired during the pandemic when demand for air travel waned.
