Oman Air celebrated the delivery of its first-ever dedicated cargo aircraft, the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) on the sidelines of Dubai Airshow 2023.

The move comes as Oman Air Cargo reports a significant 42% increase in cargo volume during H1 2023, driven by capacity expansion in its passenger fleet.

Oman Air emphasized that this freighter would contribute to the growth of Oman’s air cargo logistics sector and strengthen connections between East and West. The conversion was completed at Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company (STAECO), China.

“The 737-800BCF brings the right payload and range to complement Oman Air’s passenger fleet with dedicated cargo capacity,” said Kate Schaefer, Vice President of Boeing Commercial Modifications.

The Boeing 737-800BCF has a marketed ability to carry up to 23.9 tons of freight over 3,750 kilometers (2,330 miles).
