It goes without saying that every AvGeek has imagined stepping in to save the day during an emergency, replacing two incapacitated pilots and successfully landing an aircraft at the nearest airport to the rapturous applause of hundreds of passengers.
But how easy is it to land an aircraft with no prior piloting experience? AeroTime invited Captain Chris, an inspirational pilot who amassed a large following on social media during the pandemic, and Baroness Vere of Norbiton, the United Kingdom’s Aviation Minister, to the AeroTime Simulator Challenge.
We challenged Baroness Vere of Norbiton to see who could carry out a better simulated landing at London Heathrow Airport (LHR). With Captain Chris judging the landings of the two inexperienced pilots, who do you think fared better in the latest rendition of the AeroTime Simulator Challenge?
