A Delta Air Lines Boeing 717 was spotted leaking fuel during its climb out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), with the aircraft returning safely to its departure airport.

The video showed the Boeing 717, registered as N925AT, climbing out of CLT and leaking fuel from the right-hand side of the aircraft on March 14, 2023. While the flight crew never squawked 7700, the general code for emergency situations, the 717 returned to CLT shortly after its departure. According to flightradar24.com data, the Delta Air Lines jet peaked at an altitude of 3,850 feet (1173.4 meters).

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a temporary Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) for CLT on March 14, 2023, closing runway 18C/36C (NOTAM 03/182) and runway 18R/36L (NOTAM 03/186) for several hours.

The Boeing 717 was operating Delta Air Lines flight DL2481 from CLT to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). The aircraft departed the airport towards DTW on March 15, 2023.
