Deer Jet has launched commercial service with the first Comac Business Jet, marking the entry into service of a Chinese-developed business jet for the charter market.
The aircraft, known as the CBJ, was formally put into commercial operations during a ceremony at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport on June 22, 2026.
Deer Jet, part of HNA Aviation Group, is the launch operator for the aircraft.
The CBJ is a business jet derivative of the Comac C909 regional airliner. Comac and Deer Jet are positioning the aircraft as a large, high-end customized business jet for private and corporate travel.
The aircraft is designed with a flexible cabin layout, allowing operators to configure the interior with 12 to 29 seats. The cabin can also be divided into separate zones for resting, meetings, reception and dining, depending on customer requirements.
Deer Jet said the aircraft gives China’s high-end business aviation market a domestically developed option at a time when the country is working to expand the role of Chinese-built commercial aircraft beyond airline service.

The launch also comes during the 10th anniversary year of the C909’s commercial operation.
The C909, previously known as the ARJ21, entered service in 2016 and has become the first domestically developed Chinese jetliner to enter sustained airline operation. According to Comac, the C909 fleet has accumulated more than one million flight hours, with 185 aircraft delivered and more than 36 million passengers carried.
For Comac, the CBJ extends the C909 platform into the business aviation sector.
The aircraft joins other C909 derivative programs, including cargo, medical and emergency response versions, as Comac works to broaden the family beyond the baseline regional airliner.
Deer Jet said it will use its experience in charter operations, aircraft management, maintenance and ground support to support the CBJ’s commercial operation.
The company said it plans to develop personalized products for high-net-worth individuals and corporate charter customers as it works to build demand for the aircraft in China’s premium travel market.
Deer Jet and Comac also plan to continue cooperation in flight safety standards, maintenance support and customer experience.
Deer Jet was founded in 1995 and describes itself as one of Asia’s largest integrated business aviation operators. The company’s business includes charter flights, aircraft management, maintenance, ground handling and aircraft asset services.
