Virgin Australia has unveiled a Disney and Pixar Toy Story 5-themed aircraft, the airline’s first co-branded livery in nearly a decade, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on June 18, 2026.
The custom-designed Boeing 737-800 features Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear on its exterior, transforming the aircraft into a flying tribute to one of the most recognized animated franchises in film history. The themed jet will operate across Virgin Australia’s domestic network and is expected to be seen by hundreds of thousands of travelers over the coming months.

Experience beyond the livery
The collaboration extends beyond the livery. Starting June 1, 2026, passengers can expect Toy Story 5-themed giveaways onboard, including complimentary coloring packs for children.
The Toy Story film series will also be available through the airline’s inflight entertainment system, alongside more than 60 Disney classics.
From June 15 through July 19, 2026 a new Toy Story 5 inflight game will be available on all domestic flights. Passengers who participate will have a chance to win a Pixar-themed experience in Tokyo for up to four people.
Boarding passes for teddy bears
On the ground, Virgin Australia is introducing what it calls Toy Tickets, an Australian airline first. Children traveling with a favorite stuffed toy can request a personalized boarding pass for their companion at check-in. The initiative was inspired by a young passenger who was reunited with a teddy bear after leaving it behind on a flight.
Toy Story 5 experiences will also roll out across select airport terminals and Virgin Australia lounges. Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum Plus members will be among the first to access special film screenings in key locations around Australia.
Libby Minogue, Chief Marketing and Customer Operations Officer at Virgin Australia, said the partnership brings a beloved franchise into the travel experience.
“Toy Story has always been about more than just characters, it’s the nostalgia and joy it holds for so many people,” Minogue said. “Through our partnership with The Walt Disney Company Australia, we’re bringing the magic into the travel experience, creating moments of surprise and delight for our guests.”
Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, said the collaboration brings the film to life in a new way.
“Our iconic Toy Story characters and story have a special place in the hearts of generations,” Watson-Wheeler said. “We can’t wait to see all the magical ways this collaboration brings joy to Virgin Australia customers.”
Toy Story 5 is the fifth main installment in Pixar’s animated franchise, following Toy Story 4 in 2019. The film is set for US release on June 19, 2026.
