The Bombardier Challenger 3500 flies 3,400 nautical miles nonstop, covering the US coast to coast, and has been the best-selling super-midsize business jet since deliveries began in 2022, extending a Challenger 300-series run of more than 1,000 aircraft. Its cabin is the widest in the class, the traditional Challenger advantage, updated with the Nuage seat and a voice-controlled cabin.

The 3500 is an evolution of the Challenger 350 rather than a new airframe: same Honeywell HTF7350 engines and wing, with an autothrottle, redesigned interior and lower cabin altitude added to keep the franchise competitive. The formula works on price as much as product, with a list price around $27 million undercutting new-generation rivals.

Market position

The Challenger 3500 defends the segment crown against the Gulfstream G280, Embraer's Praetor 600 and, from 2027, the clean-sheet Gulfstream G300, the first genuinely new competition the 300 series has faced in a decade. Bombardier's answer is fleet economics: the widest cabin, the largest installed base and the operating costs charter operators know to the dollar, an incumbency the G300 will have to price against.

Bombardier, the Montreal-based manufacturer that builds only business jets since selling its commercial aircraft and rail businesses, assembles the Global family in Toronto and completes interiors in Montreal.
