Expected 2027

The Dassault Falcon 10X will fly 7,500 nautical miles nonstop, linking New York and Shanghai, when it enters service, which Dassault expects in 2027 after a program delay announced in 2024. It is the largest Falcon ever, with the widest and tallest cabin in business aviation, wider than some regional airliners.

The 10X borrows directly from Dassault's fighter work: a carbon-fiber wing built like the Rafale's, meaning a single-piece composite structure, and digital flight controls a generation beyond current business jets. Its Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines, at 18,000 pounds of thrust each, are the most powerful in the Pearl family, and the aircraft is Dassault's first entry in the ultra-long-range class dominated by Gulfstream and Bombardier.

Market position

The Falcon 10X arrives as the challenger to an established duopoly, the Gulfstream G800 and Bombardier Global 8000, and Dassault is selling the one thing neither rival can match: cabin cross-section, a full foot wider than the Gulfstream's. As the company looks to re-enter the top of the market it ceded when the Falcon 8X topped out at 6,450 nautical miles, the 10X is the largest industrial bet in Falcon history.

Dassault Aviation, the family-controlled French manufacturer that builds the Rafale fighter alongside its Falcon line, assembles Falcons in Merignac near Bordeaux and completes many interiors in Little Rock, Arkansas.
