The Dassault Falcon 6X flies 5,500 nautical miles nonstop, linking Los Angeles and Geneva, and entered service in 2023 carrying the widest cabin then flying in business aviation, a cross-section Dassault built after canceling the Falcon 5X over engine problems. Its Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812D engines replaced the failed Silvercrest program that sank the earlier design.

The 6X is the first Falcon with Dassault's FalconEye combined vision system as standard, a head-up display merging camera and synthetic terrain imagery so pilots can land in weather that would otherwise divert the flight, and the first with the FalconScan diagnostic system, which monitors some 100,000 aircraft parameters for maintenance planning.

Market position

The Falcon 6X competes with the Gulfstream G500 and the top of the Challenger and Praetor lines, selling cabin width, 8 feet 6 inches across, against the Gulfstream's range and cockpit. Dassault positions it as the recovery aircraft after the 5X cancellation, and as the company looks to rebuild share in the large-cabin heartland, the 6X's job is volume, the bridge between the aging 2000 series and the flagship 10X.

Dassault Aviation, the family-controlled French manufacturer that builds the Rafale fighter alongside its Falcon line, assembles Falcons in Merignac near Bordeaux and completes many interiors in Little Rock, Arkansas.
