Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has appointed Greg Saretzky to its executive advisory board as a special advisor.

Saretzky is the former chief executive officer of the Canadian low-cost carrier- Westjet. In his new role, he will be tasked with accelerating operational and commercial improvement opportunities at the airline.

IndiGo indicated that Saretzky’s experience with the low-cost carrier model would help the airline revive the damaging effects of COVID-19 related travel restrictions imposed in India.

IndiGo is currently India’s largest airline by market share, operating a fleet of 236 aircraft.
