An IndiGo ATR 72-600 (VT-IYX), built in 2019, experienced a critical nose gear failure upon landing at runway 26 at Hubli Airport (HBX), India.

On June 14, 2021, flight 6E-7979 took off from Kannur International Airport (CNN), India. With 5 passengers and crew the flight headed for Hubli Airport. Upon arriving at Hubli the aircraft crashed after experiencing a double tire burst on landing.

All passengers and crew onboard escaped the incident unharmed, reports by local media indicate. The aircraft was stuck on the runway but has now been towed off.

Based in Gurugram, Haryana, India, the low-cost carrier IndiGo is the largest airline in India. It operates a fleet of  246 aircraft, including 25 ATR 72 aircraft, according to planespotters.net data. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 74 passengers. The carrier has plans to add 9 more ATRs in the future.
