The German-based charter airline Condor has ordered seven Airbus A330-900s and plans to lease nine more to replace its current long-haul fleet. 

Condor intends to use the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines for their new fleet replacement to operate routes including America, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean.

The airline already operates a fleet of Airbus A320s and will start receiving the A330s from 2022.

“By operating the A320 and A330neo aircraft side by side, the airline will benefit from all the commonality economics these two premium products offer,” said Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus.

Scherer added that Condor’s decision would set a new benchmark on its path towards more sustainable flying.
