Alaska Airlines has revealed a new aircraft livery celebrating Seattle’s role as one of 16 host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in partnership with the SeattleFWC26 local organizing committee.
The livery, unveiled on June 10, 2026, is displayed on a Boeing 737-9 MAX, with registration 985AK, and features the Seattle Host City logo alongside a soccer ball in motion.

Alaska Airlines said that the design draws from elements of the official Seattle Host City poster and includes the airline’s signature whale tail graphic, connecting the livery to the Pacific Northwest and Seattle’s maritime heritage.

On the underside of the aircraft, the words “WE ARE SEATTLE” are printed in bold.
Alaska Airlines is an Official Seattle World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter, a role it holds in partnership with Qatar Airways.
Supporting Seattle on the ground and in the air
The partnership extends beyond the livery. Alaska Airlines is supporting several community initiatives tied to the tournament, including last month’s inaugural Blind Soccer international tournament, community art installations highlighting nonprofit partnerships such as the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes and the Museum of Flight, and a flag-raising ceremony where the airline will help raise the Seattle Host City flag atop the Space Needle.
Eric Edge, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at Alaska Airlines, said the livery reflects the airline’s connection to its hometown and its growing global reach.
“Our new livery is a celebration of our hometown and everything it has to offer, as well as a recognition of Alaska’s growing connection to destinations around the globe,” he said.
Peter Tomozawa, CEO of SeattleFWC26, said Alaska Airlines was the ideal hometown partner. “This livery is more than a design; it is a reflection of who we are as the Pacific Northwest — innovative, welcoming, and proud — and an open invitation to experience that firsthand,” he said.
