All Nippon Airways (ANA) has increased its current order with Embraer to include eight additional E190-E2 aircraft in support of domestic flights in Japan.
On July 29, 2026, ANA Holdings announced that following a meeting between its board of directors the decision had been made to acquire more regional jets.
“This additional E190-E2 order accelerates our efforts to build a sustainable regional aviation network in Japan,” Koji Shibata, President and CEO of ANA Holdings, said. “We are excited to deepen our partnership, elevating regional connectivity and delivering a superior passenger experience across Japan.”
In February 2025, ANA announced that it would integrate Embraer E-Jets into its fleet for the first time, with an order for 20 E190-E2 aircraft – 15 firm orders and five options.
Deliveries of the first aircraft are expected to commence in the 2028 fiscal year while the eight additional E190-E2s are scheduled to arrive from 2029 to 2032.
A SEC Filing disclosed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange placed the price of the eight aircraft at $642 million (Y105 billion).
ACMI agreement with IBEX Airlines
On the July 29, 2026, the Japanese carrier also signed an agreement with IBEX Airlines to form a comprehensive business partnership relating to outsourcing operations.
Under the ACMI contract agreed, ANA will act as the marketing carrier, responsible for route planning and sales while IBEX Airlines will act as the operating airline responsible for flight operations.
“This agreement aims to effectively utilize the resources of both companies to maintain the regional routes and improve operational efficiency,” the two companies said.
Both parties have agreed for IBEX Airlines to use Embraer E190-E2 aircraft as the operational fleet for this agreement.
If approved by the relevant authorities, IBEX Airlines will also outsource its maintenance operations to ANA.
ANA said that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism issued a report on May 29, 2026, through the “Expert Panel on the Future of Domestic Aviation” expressing the need to effectively utilize the ACMI agreement.
“This system is viewed as a vital means to balance supply and demand in response to the evolving aviation needs to maintain the domestic aviation network,” ANA said.
