Chinese advanced air mobility developer TCab Tech signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 16, 2025, to sell 350 of its E20 eVTOLs to Emirati firm Autocraft.
This agreement, which could potentially be worth US$1 billion, is the largest single order for a Chinese-made eVTOL to date.
Autocraft is the advanced air mobility arm of Kintsugi, an Abu Dhabi-based conglomerate that invests in the development and deployment of advanced technologies in different fields.
The deal also reaffirms the commitment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to become one of the first, perhaps even the first, jurisdictions in the world to enable the roll out at scale of eVTOLs for urban air mobility purposes.
TCab Tech was founded in Shanghai in 2021 and has since been working on the development of the E20, an electrically powered, five-seater tiltrotor eVTOL with a range of 200 kilometers and capable of flying at a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour.
The agreement between Autocraft and TCab Tech is dependent on the E20 gaining type certification in the UAE, a goal towards which both companies have pledged to collaborate.
Both companies had previously signed a preliminary collaboration agreement during the 7th China International Import Expo, which took place in Shanghai, November 5-10, 2024.
