Comlux Group announced on April 6, 2026, that its US subsidiary Comlux America has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty cabin.
With this approval, which has been obtained in collaboration with DOA21, another subsidiary of the Comlux Group which is a Design Organization Approval (DOA) holder, the executive aviation group will be able to market the ACJ A220 ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft, to customers in the United States.
Comlux Group partnered with Airbus to develop an executive version of the popular A220 airliner, which was launched in 2020, and, as part of that agreement, is responsible for the cabin outfitting of the first 15 ACJ TwoTwenty airframes.
The cabin interior has been designed in-house by Comlux specifically for this aircraft type, which aims to bridge the gap between purpose-built large executive jets and airliner conversions like the Boeing BBJ and the A320 ACJ.
The FAA certification will also allow Comlux and its customers to register A220 ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft under the FAA’s N-Number registry.
The A220 ACJ TwoTwenty cabin was granted the equivalent certification from the European Air Safety Agency (EASA) in 2023.
AeroTime confirmed with sources at Comlux that, as of April 9, 2026, the A220 ACJ TwoTwenty program has delivered four aircraft with another four in the pipeline for completion.
