Embraer has strengthened its presence in India by setting up a wholly owned subsidiary, which will be based in AeroCity, New Delhi.

In a press release, published on May 30, 2025, Embraer announced that the move underscores the Brazilian manufacturer’s “long-term vision for growth and potential collaboration with India’s rapidly evolving aerospace and defense landscape.”

The new Indian subsidiary is intended to enhance the company’s interests across defense, commercial aviation, business aviation, services & support and the urban air mobility sector.

Additionally, Embraer said it is working on growing its team in India. This includes establishing teams across corporate functions and specialized cells focused on procurement, supply chain, and engineering.

“India is a key market for Embraer, and this expansion demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the country,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, President & CEO of Embraer. “We see significant opportunities across defense, commercial aviation, business aviation, services & support, and the emerging urban air mobility sector.”

Furthermore, Embraer’s growth in the country underscores the strengthening of ties between Brazil and India. The company said it has nearly 50 Embraer aircraft and 11 aircraft types currently operating in the country.

This announcement follows recent strategic actions taken by Embraer in India, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in February 2024 between Embraer Defense & Security and Mahindra Defense Systems to explore the possibility of jointly pursuing the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program with the C-390 Millennium.
