Four people have been charged with offences in the UK after allegedly storming RAF Brize Norton and causing around £7 million ($9.5 million) worth of damage to two military aircraft.
Footage from the incident on June 20, 2025, was shared on social media by Palestine Action which claimed the aircraft Royal Air Force (RAF) planes were used to transport weapons that “commit genocide in Gaza”.
The video showed individuals spraying red paint onto the engines of two Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft using modified fire extinguishers and causing further damage with the use of crowbars.
Counter Terrorism Policing South East said on July 2, 2025, that following authorization from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the individuals were charged with conspiracy to enter a prohibited place knowingly for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the UK, and conspiracy to commit criminal damage.
The police added that the CPS will be submitting to the court on July 3, 2025, that these offences have a terrorist connection.
Those charged are aged between 22 and 35 years of age, with two residing in London and two with no fixed dwellings.
A 41-year-old woman, who was arrested on June 26, 2025, on suspicion of assisting an offender, was released on bail until mid-September. A 23-year-old man arrested on June 28, 2025, was released without charge.
On July 2, 2025, members of the UK Parliament voted to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist group.
The Airbus A330 MRTT, referred to locally as the Voyager multi-role tanker, is primarily used by the RAF for air-to-air refueling and strategic transport. The RAF operates a total of 14 Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft leased through AirTanker.
RAF Brize Norton is a primary logistics hub for the RAF, supporting regular flights to Akrotiri in Cyprus.
