Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced that, from January 17, 2026, it will operate direct flight services between Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).

The new service complements JAL’s current Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND)-Delhi flights, and will offer better options and connections for passengers. Travelers between India and Japan will benefit from improved connectivity to JAL’s domestic and international route network.

According to JAL, travel demand between India to Japan and North America has increased significantly due to India’s growing economy. The new Narita-Delhi service is expected to drive further travel growth between these regions.

JAL claims that, combined with the current Narita-Bengaluru flights, the new route strengthens Narita’s status as a critical connecting hub for these markets.

The Japanese flag carrier has also begun an enhanced codeshare agreement with Indian airline IndiGo. The codeshare will cover JAL-operated flights between Japan and India, providing better connections and options for passengers traveling between the two countries.
