South American ultra-low-cost carrier JetSMART Airlines has received the first of six Airbus A320neo family aircraft from German Operating Aircraft Leasing (GOAL).  

The brand-new Airbus A320neo, registered CC-DIK, left the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France, and arrived with JetSMART on March 8, 2024, via Reykjavík, Bangor, and Panama City.  

This delivery marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between GOAL and JetSMART, with three more A320neo and two more A321neo set to be delivered in 2024. 

“We have a strong commitment to continue growing and positioning ourselves as the leading ultra-low-cost airline in South America, transporting our passengers in new, modern, safe aircraft with ultra-low fares,” Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART Airlines   

He added: “We thank GOAL for being strategic partners in these objectives, and we are proud that our fleet continues to expand so that every day more South Americans have access to air travel.” 

The new Airbus A320neo entered service on March 12, 2024, and according to flightradar24.com is flying multiple times per day on domestic routes in Chile since its introduction. 

“We deeply value the trust JetSMART has placed in GOAL, and we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to support their growth and success in the dynamic aviation landscape of South America,” Christian Schloemann, Managing Director of GOAL, said. 

According to planespotters.net, JetSMART currently has 31 aircraft in service comprising of A320-200s, A320neos and A321neo aircraft. 

GOAL is a joint venture between Lufthansa and KGAL, with the new aircraft financed through its APF 5 fund, with debt arranged by AV AirFinance, a global commercial aviation loan servicer.
