JetZero has broken ground on its future factory in Greensboro, North Carolina, and has also unveiled plans for its future 108,000-square-foot (10,033 square meters) corporate campus.
On June 15, 2026, the company held a ceremony for 700 people, including North Carolina governor Joshua Stein and United States Senator Ted Budd, marking the start of construction work on the company’s eight-million-square-foot (743,224 square meters) complex which will house the company’s manufacturing and research and development activities.
In a press statement issued on the same date, the Californian aerospace startup said it has hired architectural design firm Cline to renovate an existing 1988 three-storey building within the new industrial, which the company has called “The Hub”, and plans to turn into its new headquarters.
This large North Carolina plant will be the location of the final assembly line for JetZero’s revolutionary Z4 aircraft, a clean-sheet blended-wing-body (BWB) passenger aircraft which promises to halve fuel consumption compared to aircraft of similar capacity.
Although based in Long Beach, California, within the greater LA area, where it has its Design Center, in June 2025, JetZero announced it had selected a site next to Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), near Greensboro, as its manufacturing site. This choice, which was supported by the state of North Carolina, represents a $4.7 billion investment and is expected to create more than 14,500 jobs in the state.
