In taking up this role, the German executive is replacing Candace McGraw, who left her post at ACI upon concluding her tenure and following her retirement from her previous role as CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
As of 2026, ACI represents nearly 2,200 airports in 170 countries. Its World Governing Board is composed of 28 airport CEOs, representing the five different regions in which the main body representing the global airport industry organizes itself. Among the responsibilities of the board are the provision of strategic direction in areas that are key to the airport industry, such as policy and government relations, operations, sustainability and innovation.
Lammers, who has nearly 30 years of experience in senior roles within the airport industry and prior to Munich, was also CEO of Budapest Ferenc-Liszt airport (BUD), and is no stranger to the ACI World Governing Board. A member since 2019, he already served as Vice Chair during the 2024/2025 term. He has also served on the Board of ACI EUROPE between 2017 and 2023 and was elected president of this regional chapter of ACI in 2019.
While in this new role, Lammers will work together with ACI World Director General, Justin Erbacci, who praised the organization’s new Chair:
“His global experience, proven leadership, and deep understanding of airport operations and policy come at a pivotal moment for our industry,” Erbacci said. “As airports accelerate innovation, strengthen operational resilience, and advance sustainability, Jost’s ability to build consensus and drive strategic progress will be instrumental.”
Jost Lammers, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Airport, has been appointed as Chair of the Airports Council International (ACI) World Governing Board (WGB) for the 2026/27 term.
