NetJets plans to expand its global headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, by more than 365,000 square feet and grow its Central Ohio workforce by approximately 800 employees as part of a multiyear project targeted for completion in early 2029.
The Berkshire Hathaway-owned private aviation company announced plans on November 2, 2026, for two new buildings at its Bridgeway Avenue campus, adding office space and a dedicated training center for its flight crews.
NetJets specializes in fractional aircraft ownership, allowing customers to purchase a share of a business jet with access to its fleet. Its roots date to 1964, and it launched its fractional ownership program in 1986. Berkshire Hathaway acquired the company in 1998.
The headquarters project includes a new parking garage, expanded dining and event facilities, and other infrastructure improvements. NetJets said the investment would support rising demand from aircraft owners and accommodate future growth.
The company expects its Central Ohio workforce to reach roughly 3,200 employees by the time the project is completed. It did not disclose the cost of the expansion in its announcement.
The development follows a renovation of the NetJets Flight Center, which reopened in June 2026 with upgraded technology and meeting areas.
The campus expansion comes as NetJets continues to invest in aircraft. The company says it expects to take delivery of more than 80 new jets in 2026 as it expands and updates its fleet.
Its longer-term plans include a September 2023 agreement with Textron Aviation giving NetJets options to purchase up to 1,500 additional Cessna Citation jets over 15 years. The agreement covers the Citation Ascend, Latitude and Longitude. Those options provide for future purchases rather than representing firm orders for all 1,500 aircraft.
Bombardier separately announced in May 2024 that NetJets had placed a firm order for 12 Challenger 3500 business jets, with options for another 232.
Columbus developer Daimler and Cleveland architectural firm Vocon are working on the headquarters expansion. NetJets said the project has received support from local, regional and state organizations, including the City of Columbus, Columbus Regional Airport Authority, Franklin County, City of Gahanna, JobsOhio and One Columbus, as well as the FAA.
Construction is expected to proceed in phases and remains subject to final legal and regulatory approvals.
