A Dubai-based Indian couple put on their dream wedding aboard a private Boeing 747 jet and invited 350 guests onboard as the plane took off on a three-hour flight.

The couple exchanged vows at 30,000 feet on November 24, 2023, and then celebrated with music and dancing as the Boeing 747 flew from Dubai to Oman.

Vidhi Popley and Hridesh Sainani, who described themselves as “high-school sweethearts” thanked their families and private jet operator Jetex in a video that was shared across social media.

The father of the bride, Dilip Popley, is a well-known businessman who hit the headlines in 1994 after he married his partner onboard an Air India flight.

The Popley family gained their wealth through a chain of jewelry and diamond stores in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India.

The wedding extravaganza was first announced in September 2023, with Popley, Jetex and the Dubai government collaborating to bring the event to fruition.

The bride wore a red bridal lehenga and an embroidered dupatta along with a diamond and pearl necklace.

The Boeing 747 was modified so each seat had a small projector so the guests could watch the wedding ceremony which was held in an enclosed part of the aircraft.

A dinner of vegetable jhalfrazi, mushroom pulao, palak paneer and dal masala was served onboard as guests jubilantly celebrated the day.
