Two private jets collided at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) after one of the jets departed without permission, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.

The incident took place at around 15:30 local time on October 24, 2023.

Officials said a twin-engine Hawker aircraft was departing without permission from Runway 22 when it collided with a twin-engine Cessna C510 that was landing on Runway 13 Right.

No injuries have been reported, and it is currently unclear how many people were aboard both jets, the FAA said.

HOU airport was closed for a few hours prior to the incident, and reopened around 19:00 local time.

An animation of the incident created by Houston media outlet KHOU 11 News showed how the two jets collided.
